The human being is the most versatile creature God put on this planet...at least in our minds. Our Minds...our greatest comfort (for most) and tool.
Early man figured stuff out. We have not lost that capability. In the context of preparedness, of survival, we need to capitalize on knowledge. And there are a lot of areas to gain knowledge in and about. But there are many things to be done. The first is to determine what you really want to do. Conduct a self-assessment of your skills, abilities, and capabilities in the areas of food gathering, food preparation, self/group-defense, small scale farming, appropriate technology usage, and finance. Figure out where you are and where you want to be. Naturally, there are other considerations; threats, locations, threats...but whether you are starting out or experienced, you still have to start, and focus, somewhere. Why not start with the mind.
For what it is worth, I grew up in a farming/ranching community, VERY basic life style, served proudly in the Army, and repeat the skill assessment step often. One's mind is an awesome tool, when used.
Next post I will discuss some books and knowledge centers you can use to figure more stuff out! Spartan
