Get Ready ... Seriously

Deep thinkers dig their bunkers!

This is what I did as a preventive measure against an EMP:

I went to the junk yard and found a car "just like mine!" I removed the computer (15 minutes tops!) and put it into my Faraday box. It cost me $20 for this spare. If an EMP strikes i can just swap bad for good, but when I'm done driving I can pull it back out and store it again, preventing the theft of my car.

Has anyone else done this?

I love the idea but can't help but wonder what you are going to do when there are no remaining $30,000 auto computer diagnostic tools to reprogram the replacement computer. I've installed more than a few of these computers and none of the commercial auto manufacturers provide more than a 'limp' mode for non-programed computers. If you can get it to start at all, expect terrible gas mileage and continuing problems till it is tuned by diagnostic programming.

If you know a way to get around this I am all ears, drop me a line.

Prudent, methodical readiness planning pays big dividends in a world gone mad. Unusual peace of mind is within your reach.
